I grew up in Montreal and Toronto. My wife Julia and I have been blessed with two wonderful children.
I studied at Ryerson University in Toronto and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Photographic Arts. After working at a large commercial photography
studio in Mississauga I was hired by Mutual Life of Canada as a corporate photographer. During this period I began developing my own business. Julia and I formed
David McCammon Photography in 1989 part time. By 1992 we were operating out of our first studio space on King Street in Waterloo, Ontario. In those days I photographed
numerous weddings and family portraits. I also produced commercial, corporate, annual report and editorial photography.
I purchased my first digital camera in 1999 and have completely embraced the digital world of photography. Capturing the image has changed, but the act of creation,
the art of lighting and the timing of exposure has all remained the same.
I am a member of Professional Photographers of Canada - Ontario a group of accomplished photographers dedicated to the betterment of our medium. I have achieved the
Licentiate Professional Photographer of Ontario and have won numerous awards within PPOC. The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic group of
business professionals in our community of which I am a participating member. I have photographed pro bono for The KW United Way campaign for the last 2 years.
Today, I create unique portraits and photograph for commercial and editorial applications. I love working with people whether I am creating a portrait of a family,
an executive or photographing a product. I find the whole process exhilarating from discussing clients' needs to applying my skills towards creating images they are
delighted with.
